About Prancing Dog Publications LLC

Prancing Dog Publications LLC (Prancing Dog) was founded in January 2013 by the publisher, Nancy Peterson, after leaving her former business where she had been a founder, owner and director. In that previous day-to-day role she had managed finance and operations for a technology business that provided outsourced jobboard solutions to associations, publishers and niche web portals. While in that previous business Ms. Peterson was also the lead developer for workforce50.com, a new website serving the over 50 job seeker, which Ms. Peterson now operates today under the Prancing Dog umbrella.

While Ms. Peterson is actively growing workforce50.com, her experiences over the last ten years have led her to write about caregiving and the progression of Alzheimer's Disease. As her mother's advocate, she has been encouraged by friends and associates to share her experiences with others just beginning the journey. Her very personal stories and insights are now available for other caregivers. In addition, as Ms. Peterson has learned first hand of the importance of supporting caregivers, she will introduce Caregiving Words for people to lovingly support the caregivers they know as well as those who have been diagnosed.

Workforce50.com

Workforce50.com originally launched in 2007 at AARP’s Life@50+ Conference & Exposition in Boston, MA. The website serves the older 50+ workforce in roughly mid to late career, or those transitioning to other job situations, with jobs and favorite employers as well as expert articles catering to the needs of this readership.

Under Prancing Dog, workforce50.com has undergone a number of important technological updates including a new responsive design to optimize readability on any device, cleaner site navigation, and increased browsing security for users. Behind the scenes, the website has been completely rewritten to eliminate the restrictions of an old programming language and it has been moved to a private server for faster load times.

It is the publisher's intent to make this website a premier resource serving older job seekers. With that, new content, new writers and new channels will continue to offer updated job-search information. Ms. Peterson has recently launched the new jobboard feature serving this audience and looks forward to developing this into the leading job search platform for employers who want to recruit from the mature workforce. Professionals working in the recruitment industry and related topical experts are encouraged to contact the publisher for writing opportunities.

Workforce50.com can also be found on Facebook and Youtube.

Workforce50Jobs

Workforce50Jobs, the newest feature from Workforce50.com, is a full scale job board catering to employers and recruiters who want to reach the website's audience of mature job seekers directly. Here, employers can register and post jobs that will appear exclusively on Workforce50Jobs and Workforce50.com as featured jobs.

Launching this feature is at the core of the publisher's original mission for the website. Employers advertising here are advertising to specifically attract the more mature workforce, roughly in mid to late career or even into retirement. The message is that the employers are not only age friendly but value older workers so much as to expand their recruitment efforts to include our experienced audience.

See the website for more information on advertising rates.

Workforce50.com Blog

The publisher's blog has traditionally been a means of communicating announcements, such as job fairs and new featured employers. The vision of how best to position the blog in relation to the website is under review. However, the publisher does envision the blog as a place to celebrate this time of life and live up to the tag line, "No Pastures Here". Stay tuned.

LosingMom.com

There are resources and loads of information about the staging, progression and treatment of Alzheimer's Disease. There are support groups of all kinds. And there are books chronicaling individual journeys through the disease in a broadbrush way. But the publisher is yet to find a lot of writings about the day to day issues that patients and caregiver advocates encounter. She has traveled this road alone advocating for her mother and has learned many lessons the hard way, plodding through the unexpected and learning from experience. The emotional journey has been a struggle at times but knowing that she has been there to be her mother's voice has been everything. The publisher invites you into her emotionally-charged world of caring for and losing mom to Alzheimer's Disease.

WaterJobsNOW.com

WaterJobsNOW.com had been the flagship job site in a network of career centers serving niche sectors of the water industry. It served to consolidate the postings and resources of these niche associations and publishers but the network participants over time decided to brand their own career centers. Now, owned and managed by Prancing Dog, the website stands on its own and continues to serve a broad section of the industrial and consumer water industry. Job seekers can use quick search links to browse water industry jobs, browse job search and industry resource information and set up job alerts to get current job notices in their inboxes.
